Maybelline Color Elixir Review; Petal Plush

Heyyy, guise.
So, I picked up new product at NAS. I've seen it at my local Walmart and CVS once in a blue moon. It just wasn't there for awhile and when it was, it was super expensive. It seems like they've finally come out again and I got myself one; Maybelline's Color Elixir and I got it in petal plush. It was 6.99 without tax, whereas at Walmart it's 9 dollars. What a steal~! I wanted to make sure I got one that wasn't too loud just in case I didn't like it, but..nonetheless, here it is!

This is what it said on the website:
Fall under the spell of the elixir effect
Hyper-saturated color, ultra cushiony feel

The new hypnotic lip sensation

Why You'll Love It

  • A trio of concentrates delivers the color of a lipstick, the cushiony care of a balm, and the glass shine of a gloss
  • Our exclusive smoothing angora brush delivers a polished , even application and smoothing sensation to lips

Hmm..well, I was pretty skeptical, considering it's a gloss..that's supposed to look like a lipstick?? I bought it, regardless. Here's a reference for my lips in the natural sunlight through a window.
BEFORE
AFTER ONE COAT
I can see the little shimmers in it that were present in the bottle! That's awesome!
I found the brush a little interesting...it's not your typical doe-foot wand. It says that it helps with even application, which I don't particularly agree with because when I used it, it gave me a line at the very edge of my lips. But, what can you do? My lips never particularly liked lip products, anyway.

Pigmentation
The pigmentation is okay considering the color was fairly light, even for my lips. I'm sure the brighter colors have more pigmentation. But, one swipe is very beautiful on my lips.
Finish/Texture
The finish is very shiny, much like a gloss. The texture is smooth and very light. I wouldn't say too hydrating, but they do provide a shield of protection from wind and anything else that would chap your lips. However, the only thing I don't like about it is the stickiness; it's not that bad, but it still feels a little sticky. Regardless, I will continue to use and recommend these.
Lasting Power
This color only lasted me about an hour. Perhaps it was because I was drinking coffee? Either way, it still tends to be a little sticky after it has faded.
Scent
Honestly, I loved the scent. I keep sniffing it every time I open it. It's so unique! It kind of reminds me of..cereal, lol. Fruity Pebbles, in fact. But, the taste is very..interesting; kind of bitter. I'm not too worried considering I rarely lick my lips anymore.

So, yeah! That was my review. I would definitely recommend these to anyone and this is coming from a person who has trouble with lip products no matter how popular they are. I suggest that if you're feeling weary about trying them, like I was, either find it cheap or wait for it to go on sale. Either way, I still think you'll find this a very good hit!

Buh-bye, bunnies!
